University of Wisconsin Badger Band's "Miss Badgerette"

I traveled to Madison Wisconsin and spent a few days there while waiting to see the Wisconsin Badgers do battle with the Penn State Nittany Lions on Oct 11, 2008. I got to talk with many Wisconsin students on the streets of Madison and had some fun conversations. I was lucky to catch this great kid who in all probability was coming back from some band related activity. As you might have heard, the U of Wisconsin Band was on suspension while the University investigated some issues. The reputation of the band preceded them as I had heard that they are the best band in the Big Ten. I was worried that I would not get to hear the band play. Wisconsin had a fantastic band on the field the next day. As it turned out, we tail-gated in the parking lot adjacent to the Band's practice field. I got to see the band practice at their Saturday morning drill and then I got to see them perform that night at the WI-PSU game. Those kids looked like fine tuned athletes to me! I was under the impression that Badgers (the animals) were very common. However, it turned out that I only ran into two kids who said that they ever saw a real Badger. Ironically, I ran into more kids that said they saw a Badger than I did who said that they or anyone that they knew who would be voting for John McCain. The beauty, grace, hard work and sincerity of the Badger in this video earned her my vote for "Miss Badgerette."
